This course focuses on
money and the banking system and comprises of three main parts. The first part
of the course will review money, interest rates and their behavior, concepts
like present discounted value and risk.Part two examines the structure of
the financial industry, the operations of monetary policy and its goals.
Finally, the last part of the course will review monetary theory and the control
of modern economies through coordinated monetary and fiscal policy within the
context of the IS-LM framework.
