Dr. De La Cruz is a Double-board certified Houston Plastic Surgeon received his Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, where he graduated summa cum laude, majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology.  Dr. De La Cruz is double-board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.  He successfully balanced his career as a plastic surgeon with his passion for sculpting, playing the piano and with his yearly surgical mission trips in the Philippines helping indigent children born with a cleft lip/cleft palate deformity and encephaloceles.

He specializes in facial and body contouring, such as the 4D VASER high-definition liposuction, Brazilian Butt Lift, Renuvion/J-Plasma, Bodytite,  and other highly innovative procedures.  Dr. De La Cruz recently received the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital "Helping Hands Award" and a congressional recognition by the United States Congress for his humanitarian efforts.   He also received the "We Are One" Humanitarian Award in Stockholm, Sweden.

Dr. De La Cruz also received the Grand Master Total Definer "Best B/A High-Definition Liposuction" in 2019 , which was awarded by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos, the inventor of the High-Definition Liposuction. Six plastic surgeons from all-over-the-world (Russia, Brazil, Spain, USA, Dominican Republic, Argentina) were nominated for this prestigious award.  The plastic surgeons who were nominated were selected from all the surgeons who perform the High-definition liposuction procedure from all-over-the-world.  Dr. De La Cruz was also selected by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos  to be an expert panelst in High-Definition  liposuction.

Dr. De La Cruz is one of the distinguished faculty and lecturers at the American Society of Plastic Surgeon's The MEETING 2020, and the TD ABS Plastic Surgery Meeting in Cartagena, Colombia.  Dr. De La Cruz is also an invited author in a reputable plastic surgery journal "Clinics in Plastic Surgery."  He published "Lipoplasty in the Overweight Patient" utilizing the most advanced techniques in plastic surgery with emphasis on patient safety.
